MASHED Homebrew Headquarters in Aberystwyth has undergone a wee transformation, and I’m thrilled to share that MASHED Brewhouse officially launched at the start of July. This new space is my brewing home for the foreseeable future - and what a home it is.

 We’ve rooted the Brewhouse in community spirit, designing it to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. At its heart stands a large shared table, crafted to spark conversation - about beer, creativity, life, and everything in between. Tucked at the far end is our Brewstation, a hands-on space that I’ll be using daily to brew beer for the taps, or opening up to anyone keen to give brewing a whirl themselves. Whether you’re a seasoned fermenter or just beer-curious, you’re warmly invited.

 On weekends, the Brewhouse will come alive as we open our doors for visitors to sip and savour brews crafted in-house and by members of our extended brewing family. Our bar - cleverly built into a classic Welsh dresser - operates on a self-serve model, a concept I’ve been refining over the past year, and one I fell in love with during a visit to Lyme Regis, thanks to an inspiring evening at the Fox and Owl Cellar and the magical "Under the Stars" cinema. 

 Midweek, we’re inviting community and social groups to make use of the space, with the aim of creating a vibrant hub for conversation, collaboration and creativity. And if you fancy playing publican for the night, you’re in luck - you can hire the Brewhouse for private parties and special events. Even better, you’ll have the chance to curate your own beer lineup, and if time allows, brew a custom batch for the occasion.

 To top it all off, we’re beyond excited to announce that the first round of the MASHED Homebrew Micro Tournament will take place on the 26th of July. Not to mention our participation in Aber Beer Fest, 28th - 30th August. We hope to see many of you here, raising a glass to the spirit of Aberystwyth, the joy of brewing, and the brilliant community - both local and our wider community of homebrewers and beer lovers - that make it all possible.

It’s good to finally put the tools away, breathe in the last of the dust, fire up the BrewTank, and get back to what I love - brewing great beer and sharing it with friends and, now, anyone adventurous enough to make the trip to Aberystwyth. See you here soon for a pint or two! Cheers.
