It feels like the months are flying by. I guess we are all trying to make the most of what we’ve got whilst the news around the world gets worse and worse. Jumping from global pandemic to fuel and food shortage and some nutter in the east, what’s next!?
Appropriately, I’m a huge fan of reading apocalyptic fiction and have always joked that I’ve learned to build, sew, grow, cook and make beer just in case the world comes to an end. The party will be at my place. Now I feel these skills won’t go to waste. At least I can still enjoy a stone baked pizza and pints of beer no matter what is going on around me.
But the Dark Farm team can’t enjoy the sun and spoils for too long as we are preparing to trial our first Dark Farm Tour over the summer. Making an appearance as punters at Bristol Craft Beer festival and will be doing a homebrew demonstration at the Manchester and Birmingham Craft Beer festivals. So if you are in the area please come down and join us for a chat and an inevitable beer or two!
We’ve also been busy developing our new Brew Box over the last 5 months. We are now finally ready to start beta testing with our loyal customers. There will undoubtedly be few modifications, but we are very excited to be launching an affordable temperature controller for our Brew Tank! The development process has opened doors to other new and exciting tech; it’s early days yet but we are working on a fermenting controller which can cool and heat wort from 2 to 35oC.
There is something truly special about homebrewing: turning those simple ingredients into something truly wonderful. Sitting back with a cool glass of beer, sharing it with friends or on your own with the knowledge that you made this and it’s epic! And no matter what, there are full kegs in the cellar. So keep brewing, my friends, the world may need you!!!
