Brew your own beer
An awesome activity for up to 4 adults. Make 10L of your favourite beer under the guidance of our head brewer and take it home.

Want to learn the craft of making your own beer? In this fascinating and hands-on 4-hour private group lesson you’ll learn the basics of homebrewing, and together with our experienced head brewer, Gareth, you’ll make around 10L of craft beer using professional-standard equipment. There can be up to 4 of you, so you are welcome to bring a mate with you!
We’ll start with a short introduction to the ingredients, equipment and processes involved in beer making. You can then choose which style of beer you would like to brew, and with the help of Gareth you’ll create a recipe to suit your tastes, selecting the grains, hops and yeast to achieve your dream beer.
Then comes the extra fun part: the actual brewing! The equipment we use is the Dark Farm Brew Tank, an ‘all-in-one’ adaptable and professional bit of kit, used both by homebrewers and nano breweries (plus some larger breweries for creating their pilot (test) recipes on). Gareth will also run through how you can brew at home using a big saucepan, instead of this pro equipment.
You’ll pick up lots of tips and tricks along the way to help you avoid some of the common mistakes people make when brewing beer at home. And you’ll have loads of opportunities to ask all the questions you have so you can feel confident about getting stuck into brewing at home. This is a private lesson for just your group, and there will be max 4 of you sharing a Brew Tank so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get hands-on with the brewing process and to ask any questions.
What you’ll learn
This lesson will equip you with invaluable knowledge to start you on your homebrewing journey: a highly enjoyable skill that can keep you in amazing beer for a lifetime.
The private workshop lasts approx 3 hours - during this time you’ll be guided through the full process of making wort (unfermented beer), including the ingredients and equipment used. And what not to do, so you can ensure a successful brewing experience on your own.
You’ll also be taught the theory of the next stages, fermentation and bottling/kegging beer, and will be shown the equipment used so you can ferment your wort into your final beer at home.
The final product: your beer!
We know that you’ll be keen to drink the beer you make on the day. The boring news is that beer takes at least a few weeks to ferment (and tastes better with age), so while you won’t be able to take home after the session, one person in your group can come back an pick up your brew.
£100 refundable deposit is required for the keg and extras.
