Need space and time to make your own beer?

Hire a brew station at MASHED in Aberystwyth.

Know your tri clamp from your hydrometer? Confident to brew on your own? Don’t have the equipment or space to mash up at home? Brew undisturbed with a solo session at one of our brew stations at MASHED in Aberystwyth. You’ll be using a 40L Brew Tank, our unique all-in-one electric brew kettle. Your Brew Tank will be kitted out with:

• inline filter
• wort sprayer
• sight glass
• 1.5KW RIMs system
• hop spider
• chiller coil
• mash basket
• analogue thermometer
• RAPT digital temperature controller
• electric pump
• 2.75 kw heating element
• dual walled, 1.5mm stainless steel
• professional standard tri clamp fittings throughout

You will be in complete control and responsible for your brewing session. So you can craft your beer in your own time and in your own way. Though Gareth will be on hand in the background if you need any help!

If you feel you need a refresher then it might be an idea to do our Homebrew Takeaway Workshop first. 

The Brew Tank station will be ready to go on your arrival, all set up, with the water heated. Our water is filtered using a 5-stage water filter. We also have a wide selection of grains, hops and yeasts for you to buy, if you don’t have your own. Though if you want any specific (or unusual!) ingredients, please get in touch in advance. 

If you need fermentation equipment or kegs you can hire them from us too. Please ask for details.

Price: £40 per brewing session (up to 5 hours)

Max 2 people per tank

One-off compulsory induction fee: £25 per person (This is a one-time, brief tutorial on how to use the equipment, our safety procedures etc. This fee includes a one year subscription to MASHED Homebrewing magazine, worth £25.)  

All hirers must have completed the induction session before use

We want this to be a fun and informative experience for you, but brewing does involve boiling liquids, hot surfaces and heavy equipment so we do need to ensure that everyone is kept safe. This is particularly important when the consumption of alcohol is involved. Please read the following to ensure that this experience meets the expectations of your group. 

Rules and T&Cs

The person making the booking is responsible for the behaviour of the group and is liable for any damage caused. (Does not apply to the purchaser of vouchers only).

We have the right to terminate the session at any time due to disruptive, irresponsible and/or drunken behaviour. This includes any misuse of the equipment or premises, or abuse of people (verbal or physical). Damages will be charged to the booking payment card.  

Brewing involves boiling liquids and hot, heavy equipment - full care must be taken at all times while on the premises. Irresponsible behaviour will not be tolerated. 

No alcoholic drinks to be brought onto the premises.

Sorry, no children or dogs allowed (for safety reasons). 

Age 18+ years only (proof of age required, if under 25 yrs).

No modification of brewing equipment allowed.

No smoking or vaping is allowed on the premises.

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Cancellation policy: full refund with min 48 hours’ notice 

Vouchers are valid for 1 year.
